Md. Kowshik Shahriar is a law graduate from North South University with a distinguished background in legal research, policy analysis, and editorial leadership. His work reflects a blend of scholarly engagement and practical legal insight, rooted in a strong commitment to justice sector development and public-oriented legal discourse.
Kowshik currently serves as a Research Associate at Tuhin & Partners and The Legal Matters. Before joining the firm, Kowshik built an extensive academic and editorial portfolio. He began his editorial journey at the NSU Law Blog as an Associate Editor, later becoming an Editor due to his consistent contributions to content quality and manuscript refinement. As Editor, he continues to supervise publication standards, guide contributors, and write analytical pieces on law, governance, criminal justice, and public policy.
Kowshik’s research involvement also extends to academia through his work as a Research Assistant(RA) at the Department of Law, North South University. There, he supported faculty-led research projects, drafted academic articles and policy briefs, and assisted with both doctrinal and empirical legal inquiries.
His writings have been featured in leading platforms including The Daily Star, Dhaka Tribune, The Business Standard, and The Daily Sun etc. He has presented his research at prominent conferences such as the IUB Undergraduate Law Students’ Research Conference, NSU Law Symposium, and BUP National Law Fest, with accepted papers at International conferences such as ICCTASS 2025 and the ITD Conference 2025.
He has completed several certificate courses in Legal Drafting & Litigation, Business Fundamentals, and Labor Laws, further strengthening his practical and corporate legal expertise. Kowshik has received several academic and research recognitions, including Best Innovator (Champion) at the BAIUST National Law Olympiad 2025, Most Outstanding Paper at the IUB Research Conference 2025, and Runners-Up (Best Prosecution Team) in the National Trial Tactics 2025 competition. His undergraduate and postgraduate research includes publications and presentations on topics like constitutional law, international law, governance reforms, and legal policy analysis.
