Who Tuhin & Partners is, the terms on which this website is provided, how the firm takes on clients, and the standing positions on confidential information, client identification and improper payments.
This notice sets out who we are and the terms on which this website is provided. Please read it before sending us anything.

Professional regulation
Advocates practising with the firm are enrolled with the Bangladesh Bar Council and are subject to its rules of professional conduct and etiquette. The firm practises Bangladeshi law. Where a matter requires advice on the law of another jurisdiction, we say so and work with lawyers qualified there rather than advising on it ourselves.
Using this site does not make you a client
Nothing on this website is legal advice, and reading it, downloading from it, subscribing to a publication or sending an enquiry through it does not create a lawyer–client relationship between you and Tuhin & Partners.
A relationship begins only when we have carried out our client acceptance checks, confirmed in writing that we are able to act, and agreed the terms of engagement with you in writing. Until all three have happened, we are not your lawyers and you should not act, or refrain from acting, on anything you read here.
Please do not send us confidential information yet
Before we can act for anyone we have to check that doing so would not conflict with our duties to an existing or former client. Until that check is complete we may already be acting for someone on the other side of your matter without either of us knowing it.
For that reason, please do not send us confidential or sensitive details of a dispute or transaction until we have confirmed that we can act for you. Information sent to us before that point may not be treated as confidential, and we may be unable to return or delete it if it turns out we are acting for another party. Tell us the general nature of the matter and who else is involved; keep the detail until we have come back to you.
Taking on clients, and identity checks
We are required to identify our clients and, where the client is an entity, the people who ultimately own or control it, and to understand the source of funds involved in a matter. We may ask for identity documents, corporate records and information about beneficial ownership before we begin work and from time to time afterwards.
We cannot act, and will not continue to act, where we know or suspect that a matter involves money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion or the proceeds of crime. Where the law requires us to make a report, we will do so, and we may be prohibited from telling you that we have.
We may decline any instruction, and we are not obliged to give a reason.
Improper payments
Tuhin & Partners does not offer, promise, give or authorise any payment or advantage — in money or in any other form — to a public official or to anyone else in order to obtain business, secure a decision or gain an improper advantage, and we do not accept any. We do not act for clients who ask us to. Government fees, court fees and other official charges are payable at the rates set by the authority concerned and are accounted for to the client.
This site is not legal advertising, and not an offer to act
This website describes the firm's experience and the areas in which it practises. It is not an advertisement or a solicitation in any jurisdiction where publishing it in that character would be improper, and it is not an offer to act for anyone.
The firm does not hold itself out as qualified in, or authorised to practise the law of, any jurisdiction other than Bangladesh. That this site can be read in your country does not mean we are permitted to practise there.
Other firms and organisations
Where we work with lawyers or advisers in other jurisdictions on a client's matter, they act on their own responsibility. They are not partners, agents or associates of Tuhin & Partners, we are not responsible for their advice, and they are not covered by our professional indemnity arrangements. Naming an organisation on this site — as a body a member of the firm belongs to, or an event the firm has taken part in — does not imply that we act for it or that it endorses us.
Fees
Fees are agreed in writing before work begins. Our professional fees are subject to VAT at 15%, and any government fees, registration charges, court fees, third-party costs and other disbursements are payable by the client in addition. Nothing on this website is a quotation or a binding offer of terms. How we charge is described on our fees page.
Accuracy of what you read here
The material on this site is general information about Bangladeshi law, written as at the date shown on the page. Law and practice change, and material accurate when written may no longer be. We do not undertake to update it. It is not a substitute for advice on your own facts, and we accept no liability for anything done or not done in reliance on it.
Copyright
All content on this site — text, images, publications, downloads, and the design and arrangement of the site itself — is owned by Tuhin & Partners or used with permission, and is protected by copyright. You may read it, print it and quote from it for your own reference or with attribution to Tuhin & Partners and a link to the page. You may not republish it, sell it, or present it as your own. The firm's name and logo may not be used without our written permission.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another website — including official sources such as court and regulator pages — we do so for convenience. We do not control those sites, are not responsible for their content or availability, and a link is not an endorsement.
Availability
We aim to keep this site available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw any part of it without notice.
Governing law
Use of this website, and any dispute arising out of it, is governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of Bangladesh have jurisdiction.
