Fouzia Fariha

Fouzia Fariha is currently working as the Research Editor at Tuhin and Partners, where she contributes to legal publications and research initiatives. Alongside her role at the firm, she is serving as a Climate Negotiation Fellow under Bangladesh Youth COP 2025, supported by ActionAid Bangladesh. Through these roles, she actively engages in advancing legal discourse, youth leadership, and climate justice.

Previously, Fariha worked with GIZ Bangladesh as an Intern under the Access to Justice for Women Project, where she focused on promoting women’s empowerment and access to legal remedies. She also gained experience with the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) as an Intern in the Our Voice Our Future Project, where she contributed to research and advocacy on strengthening community-based legal support systems.

Fariha completed her Bachelor of Laws in Law and Human Rights from the University of Asia Pacific in 2024, where she received the Dean’s Honor Award for Academic Excellence. Her academic journey reflects a strong commitment to both scholarship and advocacy, particularly in the fields of human rights, gender justice, and climate change.

Her research has been presented at several international and national platforms, including the University of Hull Law School Conference in the United Kingdom, where she presented her paper on National Reconciliation Between the Religious Majority and Minorities in Bangladesh. She has also presented her works on the wage dynamics in climate vulnerable areas at the 1st South Asian Conference on Climate Change, on the intersection of human rights and intellectual property at the IUB Undergraduate Law Students’ Research Conference 2024, and on inclusive healthcare access at an international webinar organized by Toronto IP, Canada, in collaboration with BRAC University. Her undergraduate thesis on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and International Copyright Law was also presented at the National Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Law, hosted by Techno India University.

Beyond her academic and professional achievements, Fariha has demonstrated excellence in advocacy and debating. She was the Second Runner-Up in the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition, K.K.Luthra Moot court Competition at the University of Delhi, Champion and Best Mooter in the 5th Intra-Department Moot Court Competition at the University of Asia Pacific, and Runner-Up and Best Debater in the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Memorial Junior Legal Debate Championship.

Through her diverse experiences in research, advocacy, and youth leadership, Fariha continues to explore the intersections of law, human rights, and climate justice, aspiring to contribute to inclusive legal reforms and policy development in Bangladesh.
