The Finance Act is the annual statute that gives effect to Bangladesh's budget — it sets income tax rates and thresholds and amends the income tax, VAT and customs legislation for the year. This session walks through what the Finance Act 2026 changed and what it means in practice.

What the session covers

  • Income tax rates and thresholds for the year, and who is affected by the changes
  • Amendments to the VAT and Supplementary Duty regime, and where they alter compliance
  • Customs changes relevant to importers and export-oriented manufacturers
  • Withholding obligations, and where responsibility sits when they are missed
  • What to check before your next return

Who it is for

Finance and accounts teams, in-house counsel, and business owners who have to apply the year's changes rather than read about them. No prior tax law knowledge is assumed.

Questions are taken throughout. If there is something specific you would like covered, send it in advance and we will address it in the session.

Please note. This is general information about the law as it stood on 8 August 2026, not legal advice, and no solicitor–client relationship arises from reading it. Law and practice change; take advice on your own facts before acting.
