4.1. Work Visas and Entry Permits

Foreign nationals intending to work in Bangladesh must obtain an Employment (E) Visa, issued for an initial period of three months and extendable up to three years. Employers must secure approval from the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) before hiring expatriates. Upon arrival, employees must register with the local authorities and apply for a work permit within 15 days. Additionally, professionals in specific sectors may require approvals from other regulatory bodies. Stringent documentation, including employment contracts and company endorsements, is mandatory.
