3.2. Investment Promotion Authorities (The Invest Bangladesh Act 2026)
The Jatiya Sangsad executed the most significant investment facilitation reform in the nation's history by passing the Invest Bangladesh Act, 2026 (Act No. 104 of 2026). This landmark legislation completely repeals and consolidates several legacy laws, including the BIDA Act 2016, the BEZA Act 2010, the Public-Private Partnership Act 2015, the Hi-Tech Park Authority Act, and the One Stop Service Act 2018. Under the Act, these four overlapping entities are merged into a single, centralized apex body: the Invest Bangladesh Authority (IBA), operating directly under the PMO. The IBA now serves as the sole, unified 'one-window' interface managing all investment promotions, economic zones, and public-private partnerships.
