12.1. Judicial Framework and Commercial Courts
To resolve business disputes quickly, the Jatiya Sangsad passed the Commercial Court Act, 2026 (on April 10, 2026). This landmark law establishes specialized Commercial Courts across divisions, exclusively designed to try commercial, banking, contract, and arbitration disputes. The act introduces strict trial timelines, requiring all commercial trials to be concluded within 90 days of the final hearing, and limits adjournments to a maximum of three times.
